Refractories

High-Temperature Refractory Grade Minerals

Overview

The refractories industry produces materials that withstand extreme temperatures in steel, cement, glass, and non-ferrous metal furnaces. Raviraj Minerals supplies refractory-grade dolomite and magnesite-lime minerals with controlled chemistry, high melting points, and low impurity content for both burned and unburned refractory applications.

Dolomite Powder

Refractory-grade dolomite from Raviraj Minerals is used in the production of basic refractory bricks and monolithic refractories for steel converters, electric arc furnaces, and cement rotary kilns. Upon calcination, dolomite decomposes to yield MgO and CaO, both essential basic oxides for refractory performance.

Our refractory dolomite is characterized by high combined chemical purity (CaO + MgO > 95%), low SiO₂ and Fe₂O₃ content, and controlled particle size for proper packing density in refractory formulations.

  • High MgO + CaO content (>95%) for superior refractoriness
  • Low SiO₂ and Fe₂O₃ — prevents flux interactions that lower melting points
  • Used in basic refractory bricks for BOF steel converters
  • Suitable for monolithic refractories in cement and lime kilns
  • Controlled particle size for optimal packing density and strength
