Overview
PVC films are used extensively in packaging, agriculture, construction, and stationery applications. Raviraj Minerals provides ultra-fine calcium carbonate and dolomite that integrate seamlessly into both flexible and rigid PVC film formulations, improving clarity, mechanical properties, and processing efficiency.
Calcium Carbonate
Calcium carbonate is the primary mineral filler in PVC film manufacturing. Raviraj Minerals supplies surface-stearic-coated grades that ensure excellent compatibility with PVC resin while maintaining film transparency and mechanical integrity.
Our coated CaCO₃ provides superior dispersion in PVC melt, resulting in smooth film surfaces, reduced die build-up, and consistent film thickness across high-speed production lines.
- Improves film stiffness and tensile strength without compromising flexibility
- Coated grades maintain transparency in films at moderate loading levels
- Reduces compound cost while maintaining functional properties
- Enhances surface smoothness and slip in finished films
- Improves thermal stability during PVC film extrusion
Dolomite Powder
Fine dolomite powder is used in rigid PVC calendered films and rigid sheets as a white filler and processing aid. Its slightly lower hardness compared to calcite makes it a preferred choice where minimal abrasion on processing equipment is important.
- Produces bright white opacity in rigid PVC sheets and films
- Lower Mohs hardness reduces processing equipment wear
- Acts as an acid scavenger during PVC thermal processing
- Improves weather resistance in outdoor PVC film applications
