Overview
The paper industry is one of the largest industrial consumers of mineral fillers globally. Raviraj Minerals supplies talc, calcium carbonate, dolomite, and kaolin to paper mills for use as fillers to enhance opacity and brightness, and as coating pigments to improve printability, smoothness, and gloss.
Talc Powder
The paper industry is the largest consumer of talc globally. Raviraj Minerals supplies 300 Mesh (53µ) talc with brightness ranging from 80% to 96%, meeting the specifications required by paper mills for both filler and coating applications.
One of the most critical functions of talc in paper making is pitch and stickiness control. During the paper making process, oleo-resinous droplets get added to the stream. Talc, being hydrophobic, absorbs these micro-droplets, controlling their stickiness and preventing clogging of paper machinery.
- Used as a filler to improve smoothness, porosity, and opacity of paper
- Controls pitch and stickiness during the paper-making process
- High brightness — reduces the need for expensive whitening agents in coatings
- Controls gloss in coating applications without sacrificing smoothness
- Available in standard 300 mesh and fine grades for specialty papers
Dolomite Powder
Paper-grade dolomite from Raviraj Minerals is processed with high precision from the finest raw material. It is extensively used as a filler in paper manufacturing, appreciated for its purity, eco-friendliness, and consistent quality delivered in moisture-free packaging.
- High brightness and whiteness for premium paper grades
- Improves sheet formation and even distribution in paper pulp
- Low grit content — protects paper machine felts and wires
- Supplied in moisture-free packaging to maintain quality
Kaolin / China Clay
Kaolin is one of the most valued minerals in the paper industry, used both as a filler and as a coating pigment. Various grades are produced to enable papermakers to achieve specific levels of performance. Raviraj Minerals supplies kaolin grades engineered to optimize brightness, ink absorption, and printability.
- Improves sheet brightness, opacity, and smoothness
- Enhances printability — better ink absorption and pigment holdout
- Reduces linting tendency in coated papers for offset printing
- Suitable for use in fine papers, board, and specialty coating formulations
