Overview
Electrical insulators are used across power transmission, distribution, and consumer electronics applications. Raviraj Minerals provides talc, dolomite, and kaolin with excellent dielectric properties, high volume resistivity, and thermal stability for use in rubber and polymer-based insulator compounds and ceramic insulator bodies.
Talc Powder
Talc's naturally high volume resistivity and dielectric strength make it the material of choice for electrical insulation applications. In polymer-based insulator compounds, talc provides stiffness, thermal stability, and consistent electrical properties across a wide temperature range.
Steatite ceramics, made predominantly from talc, are widely used as electrical insulators in spark plugs, high-voltage switches, and power line insulators.
- High volume resistivity — ideal for electrical insulation compounds
- Excellent dielectric strength and low dielectric loss factor
- Thermally stable over a wide operating temperature range
- Primary raw material for steatite electrical insulators
- Used in PP, EPDM, and silicone rubber electrical insulation compounds
Kaolin / China Clay
Hard calcined kaolin is used in XLPE and EPR cable insulation compounds as a semi-reinforcing filler with excellent electrical properties. Its fine particle size, hydrophobicity, and chemical purity make it suitable for medium-voltage and high-voltage cable insulation applications.
- High volume resistivity in rubber cable insulation compounds
- Superior chemical purity ensures consistent electrical performance
- Hydrophobic nature reduces moisture absorption in insulating compounds
- Used in XLPE, EPR, and silicone cable insulation applications
